Project SEVER
A downloadable game for Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android
This game has both VR and Non-VR suport!
The Arctic depths conceal mysteries that are impossible to fully comprehend.
An tempting offer: a short contract, generous compensation, and an expedition beyond the Arctic Circle. How could one resist? Your task seemed simple — to service the carrier vessel of the enigmatic soviet submarine called "Sever-3" (North-3).
But fate had other plans: You volunteered to replace an ill staff mechanic for one mission, and as luck would have it, everything went awry on that very occasion. Now you're a prisoner of the depths, lost in the ruins of an abandoned Soviet research complex.
Your only chance for survival is to master the control of this highly complex underwater vessel and uncover the secrets buried here for decades.
But be cautious: in these dark waters, you are not alone.
Uncover the mysteries of the past to secure your future. Will you manage to escape this underwater trap, or will you remain forever a captive of the cold Arctic waters?
Submarine
The "Sever" submarine was built with the most advanced technology of its time. Decades later, some of the equipment looks old-fashioned, but others are still impressively advanced.
Use the holographic navigator to avoid getting lost in the Zone's labyrinths, the sonar to see your surroundings, and the underwater drone to interact with the outside world.
And don't forget to monitor your power consumption, as the onboard nuclear reactor is prone to overheating.
The Zone
Explore the ruins of a research complex built on the territory of an anomalous zone. As a result of a mysterious disaster decades ago, the entire complex was deserted overnight. Solve the mystery of what happened in the past, restore the chain of events as you explore the territory of the Zone, and find a way to get out of here alive.
Features
- Immersive experience in both senses, both literally and figuratively
- A variety of instruments. You have no windows, but you're not blind. Use them to find your way out.
- A detailed submarine that is not your enemy, but your ally. So don't hesitate, learn how it works and become a skilled submariner.
- You can't go outside in a wet suit, but that doesn't mean you can't interact with the outside world. Use your trusty (and nearly indestructible) ROV to retrieve and place objects in the caves.
Hints and controls
Please refer to Controls.txt file in the game directory. There's also ingame tutorial that covers basic mechanics of the game.
There's more info ("Help" section) in the submarine terminal and in Hints.txt file in the game directory.
Supported languages: English, Russian. Language can be changed only in the main menu. English translation is not perfect, so I will appreciate any help in translation.
PC version of the game has gamepad support. To enable gamepad controls, connect your gamepad to PC, launch the game, and check "Gamepad" checkbox in settings page in the main menu.
Please note
This game supports both Desktop and VR modes. On PC you can choose play mode in the main menu.
This is a demo version of a larger game that is still in development. This demo include the first chapter of the game. Approximate time to complete the demo: 2-3 hours.
If you liked it and want to play more, you can select the "old demo" option in the menu. The old demo is a story in its own right, and as a bonus, it has some game mechanics that are not included in the new demo.

I cant seem to move my mouse whenever im holding the thrust lever thingy
it fixed itself after a restart to a quick save
What is the reactor serveace code??
The code is 0451, although opening reactor containment has no practical use in the demo.
thanks mate i just wanted to know cause i thought it had somthing
I played the most that caused a person's stress to rise, but it was entertaining and caused my brain to electrify from intense concentration and remembering everything, 10/8 game
Just finished playing and I think that might be the most immersive VR game I've played to-date. The machines all are responsive and all the buttons clicky and actually do something.
Since much of the game is controlling things via in-game screens, the immersion is deeper since you kind of can only hold so many levels of disbelief at once. So, it feels like the things on the screens are a game, but then you look up and around and you're still in the submarine.
Awesome. I can't wait for the full game!
Playing vr version, I cannot put the plug into the socket at the start of the game. I wish that I could play the full game but sadly, I cannot.
Hello!
What version are you playing? Desktop or standalone VR? You cannot grap plug or socket doesn't cath the plug after you release it? Does this persists after restarting the game?
Im playing on PCVR. Yes, this problem has been reoccurring after relaunches. I am able to grab the plug, but when making contact with the socket, nothing happens. I am playing on the Valve Index by the way.
Oh, that's strange, I will check it. Probably it's a some kind of a rare bug, I haven't seen it before, I hope it's not common. For now, you may try to complete this part in non-vr mode (nearest autosave is in one minute max), and load the game in VR mode after.
Игруха однозначно топ,10 полученных ударов от непонятной постройки из 10 попыток найти второй модуль
I really hope that this game can come out on an Android platform, not just to VR.😢
it's already on Android. just download the SERVER_Pico_0_4_2.zip
Ok, I'll try it. Thank you.:)
The black screen of the game bothers me.😬
The game is black screen, can you explain it?
This is all Supported Platfoms

Does it mean that Android is not available yet? If so, thank you, bro :)
Now THIS is one hell of a good demo. It's impossible not to compare it to Iron Lung (due to it being a submarine game where you can't directly see outside) but this took what was already a stressful concept and made it even more tense and stress inducing. I got fairly overwhelmed at first by the sheer complexity of the submarine but after getting the hang of it, it became extremely fun to pilot the sub around (though still tense of course thanks to some pretty great sound design). Honestly, the only thing that could make this even better than what it already is, would be to have proper voice acting. In fact, I would love to do that and help on this project, no payment needed, this is just an amazing game that I think deserves a lot of support (plus, I can imitate Siri's voice quite well so I think I could do the voice of the ship's AI). Seriously, you've got something amazing in your hands here, so much potential and I'll definitely be getting it on Steam once the full game is out! Keep up the amazing work!
Thank you! Your playthrough is great!
I'll def will replace AI voiceovers in the full version, but there's much work that should be done before this.

Unfortunately i my + - buttons are not working on the game, thus, it makes impossible to use tilting camera in drone. Is there a way to change the key bindings ?
You can change key bindings in main menu, "Settings" > "Controls" > "Key Assignment". Needed keybind named "Drone Camera Angle", in "ROV Control" category.
Oooops. Thank you for your reply. I didn't now that it is on the menu at the intro screen rather than the menu inside the gameplay.
Hey, a really cool game, would be an honor for us if you'd consider joining us as, we're looking for talented indie creators for games, tools, assets, zines, books, ect for a massive a co-op bundle, where we want to include 300 items at least.. If you would like to join us it would be awesome! https://itch.io/jam/ultimate-300-bundle-submissions best regards & peace <3
Actually I love military related games!
hey so i got to do the task where you have to get to the reactor terminal, but i got to a point where there are like 4 sides and i dont know where to go, its like where theres an electricity orb wandering around, help please
In this task you should enable reactor attractors on the reactor terminal, then lure the core (wandering orb) into the reactor, which is placed in center of this chamber, using an anomaly sensor switched to attractor mode. (If you lost both sensors, there's another one in the gravity anomaly)
Then you can activate the reactor using the terminal, and proceed to the gates marked with large "C" letter. The gates can be opened using the terminal near them.
Hi yes thanks i was able to do that but after i entered the gate C ive been stuck in a loop, can i know where to go or what to do after that?
What are your active tasks in the submarine terminal?
After you stabilize the reactor and open the C gate, you should go through hole in the destroyed tunnel, and find a way to repair shop, where you will find a service station occupied by derelict submarine
my active task is finding the service shop, i’m by the submarine, is this where im supposed to be?
Service shop is the large hall with several derelict submarines and a large portal crane on on the ceiling of this hall.
There is two working terminals, one is controlling the crane, and second is used to start the software update when your submarine is in right position.
If you're completely lost, you can teleport to service shop using the cheats menu in the main terminal of the submarine. It's the 11th point.
iron lung but better
Обожаю игры с подобной механикой, как писали ниже Subnautica + Barotrauma, соглашусь.
Пока только начал прохождение, но уже хочется узнать что там будет дальше, успехов в развитии!
Это просто что-то невероятное!
Subnautica + Barotrauma помноженная на дух советского машиностроения!
Великолепная игра, не смотря на AI озвучку - просто шикарно.
I really liked the game, but I ran into a problem that in the PC version, the screens of the drone's cameras and at the helm do not show the image
What are hardware specs of your PC? I've heard about this issue, trying to find the cause of it, but without success for now. I'll notify you if I make a new version with proposed bugfix.
Glad that you liked the game despite this embarassing bug!
It's a shame I don't have a VR here, but I'll definitely try it
Very nice, very good graphics and the best is, it is for Pico 3, 4 too!
Maybe sent it to Pico to their Store?
The only bad thing ist, the old demo, the button on the wall don't works.
What did you use to make it, Unity UE, or Godot?
Thank you! The game is made using Unity Engine.
What buttons are not working in the old demo?
Oh, I've found the bug in the old demo, it's literally the first button you have to press, that's a shame.
I'll fix it in the next update. For now, you may use the "Save_OD_FreeRoam" that I've attached in the files section
Yes. Nice you found it.
What to do with the Save_OD_FreeRoam.json?
I have placed it into the save games dir, was loadable, but did not work: All after the blue bubbles-load screen was black.
(Using the standalone-Pico version)
good game pls add co op
The atmosphere is great, and the attention to detail really shines through. Will be waiting for main release!
New version looks like serious game. Progress is greater!
I played the game and open it, i only got black screen with some shore waves sounds, what should i do?
Hello!
On what platform did you've encounter this? Does restarting a game helps?
Mobile and restarting wont help
is it multiplayer?
or will it be multiplayer in the future
No, at least in observable future. It would be cool, but multiplayer for a complex game is a major PITA.
couldnt finish the tutorial, mouse acceleration shenanigans genuienly gave me motion sickness, i like the yellow ui for the screen though even if i could barely read it without getting really close to my monitor (guess it is a VR centered game)
Thank you for feedback!
I will add mouse acceleration setting in future versions. For now, you may try to reduce mouse sensitivity to make it easier to aim.
As for screens , have you used a zoom button (Z on keyboard)?
i've played a few hours of this, altough i'm still trying to get the hang of understanding the objective since its not very clear, even more for me (i'm a slow person) i truly love were this is going and reminds me a lot of the feeliing of playing barotrauma alone! altough the menu's and buttons are kinda weird to use, they menus would work pretty much better as only tap to choose (idk if thats already intended since i tap and sometimes it does nothing) but i really like were this and its def a must purchase for me!
Thank you! Your feedback gives me motivation to develop the game further, making it better.
Yes, the goals in this version of the game are not very clear, it’s not easy at first. In the terminal, in the tasks section, the main tasks are indicated, and on the shelf in the third compartment you can find a map of the caves, which will be easier to navigate.
I'm not sure, but in the current version there seems to be a bug with screens - some screens only respond to pressing with one hand (I don't remember exactly, left or right). This bug has been fixed, and the next update will no longer have this problem.
This game needs better controls. For example, the buttons could be bigger for easier pressing. Also, adding a seated mode would be great because I prefer to play slow games like this while seated.
Other things are well made, I really like it.
Thank you for your feedback!
Controls will be improved in future versions, I'm working on it.
As for seated play, you can adjust the player's height for comfortable seated play through the in-game menu. Or is there something else missing?
I am blown away how well done this is! Keep up the great work, you are crushing it!
Thank you!
I'm working hard on it, hope to release new reworked demo later this year, featuring new story, polished mechanics, fleshed out tutorial and much more.
I would simplify the input to open the settings menu in VR, there's no way to guess Grip + X would open it.
Like me, a lot of people won't probably read the whole description or read the Controls.txt before jumping into the game so, yeah, I would make things simpler, specially for VR games.
What about just pressing either A, B, X or Y? Are you reserving all of those buttons for something else? If not, I encourage you to change the binding to just be one button.
That being said, the game looks interesting, I'll give it another shot!
P.S: In case this is relevant, I was playing the PC version via Quest Link.
Thank you for your feedback!
Does pressing the menu button on the left controller open the Steam VR menu or the Quest Link overlay? In the native Meta Quest version, pressing the menu button on the controller opens the ingame menu (as it should be), but since I've been testing the PC version on Pico, which has problems with this button on Steam Link, I've added an alternative (Grip + X). I've not checked this on Quest on PC.
Sure, I have no reason not to put the menu on "X" for now, so I will change the mapping to something more intuitive in a future update.
Playing via Quest Link doesn't seem to be running Steam VR, so the button seems available, although if you plan to release on Steam, I guess it would be better to avoid using this button, in case some players would execute the game via Steam VR.
I was lol I thought it was a version for Android phones, will a 100% Android version ever be released?
One of the best VR games for quest 2!
There is just so much to interact with on the submarine, and there is a huge area to explore with it.
Great work!
Thank you!
Hope the full version will be even better
I can't download it (android) would there be some kind of tutorial?
Are you trying to install it on regular Android phone?
The game is currently supporting only Android VR platform (Oculus Quest 2/3, Pico 4), there's no Android support yet, sorry
Will it work on Pimax Crystal standalone in VR?
I don't know, (tbh, I don't know anything about this headset)
If it has separate platform, and requires built-in SDKs, like pico, then probably no.
But you can always try it, it'll be great if it works. Otherwise, if creating builds for this platform does not require any special resources and accounts, I may try to create build for this platform later.
I love these soviet-punk devices with a lot of buttons and indicators, absolute immersion into loneliness atmosphere in small submarine.
